All time it's Lara & Waqar, both the kind of players one would happily part with hard earned to watch in action. Honourable mention to Gilly too, who manages to be both a genius and a gentleman.

Currently it's hard to go past Dravid & Sanga. Both have that quality that one best defines as "class" in their play and both seem the kind of chaps you'd want with you in the trenches.

Of players I have had the pleasure of seeing Farokh Engineer is and always has been my favourite cricketer bar none. There are some, himself included I believe, who claim he is Indian, although as far as I'm concerned he's as Lancastrian as tripe and cow-heel pudding.

Generally I will admit to being increasingly xenophobic as I get older but of current players I'd say Tamim Iqbal and Shiv Chanderpaul are my favourite non-english players

...oh and Farvez Maharroof, obviously
Could you tell more (or link to an explanation) about what Farokh actually did to become such a big favorite. I am not familiar with his exploits.

My favourite professional cricketers are all from a foreign country.

As for non-professional players, most of them are from a foreign country as well :D My favourite list is here on cricinfo.
