Which Was the Worst Possible Umpiring Decision That You Have Seen

Lance Cairns being called for intimidatory bowling after a slow medium bouncer which dismissed Jim Higgs. The decision allowed Doug Walters to score a ton and for Australia to win the match.

LBW given against Ponting on debut which robbed him of a 100 in his first game

here's the Cairns one

go to the end of this one for Ponting's bad lbw

Wow, that is bad.

Worst I've seen, live (on my TV) was McCullum out LBW to a left-arm spinner (Razzaq, perhaps) against Bangladesh in 08. Umpire was Asoka 'the worst of the worst' de Silva. It was high, pitching outside leg and missing leg.

It would be more damaging to his reputation if someone said he actually thought it was out than if he was cheating..that's how ridiculous it was.
yes, what you said about Ahoka, i agree 100%...in modern era, he is possibly 'the worst of the worst' in my book aslo...bucknor though very much in competition (specially last 5 years of his career)

Rob, Ricky Ponting was given LBW in india in that 1998 series, by an English umpire...forgot the name (may be Sharp), but that one Ricky played with almost the middle of the bat...is it possible to find that one?
Yes yes yes, plenty of horrible umpiring in that series, lots of shockers. I have uploaded a mini review of the series, but don't know if the Ponting dismissal is in it, i'll dig it up later if i can, i have the whole series ball by ball still

Dealt with on the last page. The batsman was out hit wicket earlier in the proceedings but wasn't able to be given out because there had been a call of over.

Therefore it was agreed by all parties that he would be dismissed "caught behind" from the first ball of the following over. The body language is a good clue.

Kris Srikkanth being given out LBW to a ball from an Aussie left armer (Reid, I think, although it could have been Mike Whitney) in 1991/92. Shocker, pitched about a yard outside leg stump.
