(McGrath vs Hadlee, Ambrose vs Marshall, or Marshall vs Hadlee would all be really interesting battles, perhaps we can have a bronze medal play-off?)

Would have voted for Mcgrath over nebody else but just cant look past MM's overall excellence in whatever bowling category one can think of esp his highest ave vs ne country being 22!!

Marshall & Curtly.

Horrified at the touch up Waqar got tho.
He made it to the top 8, which is a fine achievement for someone with his career statistics.

And just because McGrath smashed him doesn't mean much. McGrath pretty much would smash any bowler in history.

EDIT: Or don't you remember the massacres of English batsmen at his hands?

Fo rme it's not just the number of wickets, the "how" matters too. Waqar was a proper balls-out spearhead, whereas McGrath was (arguably) the greatest defensive bowler of all time. Sounds as if I'm having a pop at McGrath, and I'm really not, but Waqar's MO was infinitely more thrilling to watch, even when one's own team was on the receiving end.

Plus, obvs, Waqar's record early doors is one of the best ever.
