And amazingly that very same hi res super slo-mo enabled you to mark down Gower as a byword for claiming grounded catches...
Lol-worthy. Gower celebrated much harder than Hughes did there, and the muppet had his back turned when it struck the fielder. But that's ok.. He was "sure"...

Beer bowling well here.

Beer has bowled well to Cook, short and wide filth to the right handers.

I wish Cook would play straighter here. Looks a matter of time playing everything square.

Beer is bowling well out there. He needs to sort that barnet out though. Get it shaved off mate, go bald with dignity.

Yeah, shame for Colly, but don't think it'll be his last innings, and to be honest if he got some runs, it might save him, and we need to move on. Time for Hildreth or Taylor, with a possible thought of playing an extra seamer, or spinner. Ideally Rashid or Patel to come through, to give us decent balance, neither of those ready yet though.

Lol.. Good call.. Needs to go with it, though he might be looking at a "Yeah Yeah" moment.

I don't know why people get so worked up about claimed catches. Other than the obvious fact that it's tough to tell what happened when the ball hits your hand at over 100 ks, there's the fact that gamesmanship is unlikely to work in this day and age. Cook wasn't anymore likely to be given out for the Hughes catch than he was for the one he edged to Clarke in the slips which wasn't claimed.

A guy being unsure yet excited about the prospect of taking a good catch is hardly as tricksy as people make it out to be.

Maybe he thought it was out? Where's your slo-mo to prove him wrong?

And by contrast, as we all seem to agree, Hughes didn't think his "catch" was out, and the slo-mo proved him decisively right
