Best 3 Tests in a row?

keeper

U19 Vice-Captain
Allan Lamb's 3 tons in 3 Tests against a 1984 Windies was quite a feat. Even of his average over the games wasn't that great due to failures between his hundreds. Still, allowing for the opposition...

Got another a couple of tests later vs SL as well.

aussie tragic

International Captain
George Giffen vs Eng 1894

1st Test: 161, 4-75, 4-164, 41
2nd Test: 32, 6-155, 43
3rd Test: 58, 5-76, 24, 2-74

so 359 runs @ 59.83 and 21 wkts @ 25.90

NUFAN

Y no Afghanistan flag
Wasim Akram

3rd Test vs Eng: 3-83, 40, 3-67
1st Test vs Zim: 1-58, 257*, 0-16
2nd Test vs Zim: 6-48, 35, 4-58

332 runs @ 166 and 17 wickets @ 19.41

The Tiger King
Wasim Akram

3rd Test vs Eng: 3-83, 40, 3-67
1st Test vs Zim: 1-58, 257*, 0-16
2nd Test vs Zim: 6-48, 35, 4-58

332 runs @ 166 and 17 wickets @ 19.41
haha.......didn't know Akram had that kind of streak too...nice post

International Debutant
Sobers in the 1966 tour to England would be a very strong contender as well. In the second to fourth tests he scored 480 runs @120 and took 14 wickets @24

The Sean

Cricketer Of The Year
Clarrie Grimmett's last three Tests against South Africa in 1935/36:

5/32, 5/56
3/70, 7/40
7/100, 6/73

33 wickets at 11.24. I'd tell you how he got on continuing that run - if he'd ever been picked to play for Australia again.

O yeah, his relationship with the then Aussie captain didn't help either!

I've often heard that Grimmett's best years as a bowler probably came after his last test...but alas! we'll never know for sure!

Norwood's on Fire
it used to be on, but the user had to remove it due to copyright stuff.:@
Thank ****!

I guess Flintoff 2005 is worth a mention

Edgbaston 68 + 73, 3-52 + 4-79
Old Trafford 46 + 4, 1-65 + 4-71
Trent Bridge102 + 26, 1-54 + 2-83

319 runs avge 53.16 and 15 wickets avge 26.93

I know the stats aren't brilliant but they were against one of the greatest sides ever seen and were the main reason England recorded 2 victories and were only denied by the weather in the other game.
Saved me a job. Just opened cricinfo to find these figures. I think they are brilliant stats, to combine both. Scored 72 & 8, and 5-72 in the following Test as well

Ravi Bopara has it both ways:

v Sri Lanka 2007:

34 & 8
0
0 & 0

v West Indies 2009:

104
143
108
Ravi Belowpara.

I looked up his 09 Ashes but surprisingly he managed to get passed 15/20 a couple of times. I knew he'd hit 35 in the first Test and remembered him failing to get more than, like, 3, after that. Maybe all that voodoo was a bit uncalled for.

Virender Sehwag isn't too bad...

1. vs Australia in Melbourne 195 and 11
2. vs Australia in Sydney 72 and 47
3. vs Pakistan in Multan 309 and DNB

Overall 634 runs @ 126.80

Redbacks

International Captain
Stuart MacGill

7/142 4th Test v Eng in Aus 1998/99 at Melbourne
12/107 5th Test v Eng in Aus 1998/99 at Sydney
3/41 1st Test v WI in WI 1998/99 at Port of Spain

22 wickets @ 13.18

Unlucky in the last match, McGrath took 10/78 (5/50 & 5/28) and cleaned up the WI in the 2nd innings with Gillespe which denied him the chance to bowl in the second innings.
