3rd-5th tests

4/173
8/133
12/246
Far more runs in that than I seem to remember. Hmm.

Anyway - Imran Khan vs India 1983:

2nd Test - 3-19, 33, 8-60
3rd Test - 6-98, 117, 5-82
4th Test - did not bat, 6-35, 2-45

150 runs at 75, 30 wickets at 11.3.

I guess Flintoff 2005 is worth a mention

Edgbaston 68 + 73, 3-52 + 4-79
Old Trafford 46 + 4, 1-65 + 4-71
Trent Bridge102 + 26, 1-54 + 2-83

319 runs avge 53.16 and 15 wickets avge 26.93

I know the stats aren't brilliant but they were against one of the greatest sides ever seen and were the main reason England recorded 2 victories and were only denied by the weather in the other game.

Lara (2001): 6 Inn, 0no, 688 runs @ 114.67, 3 centuries
Bit surprised/disappointed that Lara "only" averaged 114, having watched that series it was the greatest exhibition of batsmenship I have ever seen over 3 tests.

There was couple of shots I remember that was mind blowing. Murali had a long on and deep squarish midwicket, and was ripping those massive off breaks by pitching it half a foot outside of Lara's leg stump.
Lara kept coming down the track and playing the ball along the ground between those two fielders for boundaries.

Another allrounder, Aubrey Faulkner vs Eng (1910)

1st Test: 78, 5-120, 123, 3-40
2nd Test: 47, 2-51, 9, 6-97
3rd Test: 76, 4-89. 44, 2-75

so 377 runs @ 62.83 and 22 wkts @ 21.45

Andy Flower had a pretty good run in late 2000.

Starting with the India series, he had scores of 183*, 70, 55 and 232*. In the next test, away against NZ, that followed he made 79 and DNB.

619 runs at an average of 206.33, plus 5 catches and a run out.

If you start with the test before the India series (which was also against NZ, at home this time), you get 653 runs @ 163.25, plus 4 catches and a stumping.

Chris Broad must have had a tasty average from the middle three Ashes tests in 86-87.

It's the all-rounder stats above that really stand out though. Staggering some of them.

Kumar Sangakkara in 2007

200* vs BAN

222* vs BAN

57 & 192 vs AUS

671 runs @ 335.5

Followed up these three games with 92 and 152 against England.
Wow so he was 8 runs short of hitting 3 double centuries in three consecutive tests? Jheeeze
