Is he actually Aussie qualified? He's from NZ and has actually represented them in Athletics.

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

Yeah, its strange. He has usually done decently, especially for someone who isn't first choice and doesn't play a whole load of matches on the trot. He is quite a well rounded bowler.

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

Potts has been a bit unlucky, it's true, although the other part of me thinks that many English seamers won't have minded TOO much to have missed the first two tests. I have said before that I think that with some rain around the last few days, you would have thought that it won't be all in the...

Who are your favourite commentators/analysts on TV & Radio

Yeah Karthik and Broad are very good, with the polished professionalism of Atherton/Hussain/Butcher being noteworthy.

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

You would have thought though that Kuldeep won't be seeing a too friendly pitch for spin. Just a simple situation with the rain having come. OT had a tradition of offering spin on days 4 and 5, but even so I wouldn't have thought it would be THAT helpful for spinners nonetheless. From an English...

But isn't the bottom line that you have something to ensure that batting has something to work with? Pitches don't have to be the roads, but ensure that it is even, good orthodox batting can develop? This is probably something away from the test scene that needs to happen, and I guess has been...

It doesn't make any sense to me, I must say.

    **Official** English Football Season 2025/26

I would have thought you still have a chance to get Isak somewhere down the line and from an outsiders perspective, I thought that Newcastle would be able to keep him at least for this season. Issue is down the line with him as you suggest. I know there is a lot of smoke and mirrors with some of...

My main take on those highlights is that how did we let Leigh Halfpenny pronounce his surname that way, it really should be Hay-p'nknee!

    3rd Test (Lord’s) - 10 July to 14 July

England vs India player ratings as ‘torrid’ Ollie Pope scores 1/10 I am amazed at some of the clarifications. Pope gets one despite a hard fought 44 in the first innings. Yeah I know it was lucky but even so, a bloke really out of sorts at least put a score on the board, yet Brook gets 4/10 for...

England v India: Liam Dawson called up as Shoaib Bashir replacement - BBC Sport Anyway, England have called up Dawson for the next two tests. Good move I think and is certainly not without merit.

I can't help feel that Crawley will probably get a 60 odd in the next two games that will help the management justify why he should go to Australia, regardless of the overall lack of merit. His records since the start of the 2024 English season in test colours is 24 and that includes his ton...

*Official* Australia Tour of West Indies 2025

I remember that Gillespie looked utterly awesome in the 2001 Ashes, bowling more consistently quick than Lee in the first 3 tests, but he tailed off towards the end of that series. In fact he averaged 34.31 that series but only took 2 wickets in the last 2 tests suggesting he ran out of gas back...

I know he's injured his non-bowling hand, but it says a lot that Bashir isn't likely to be on this innings on a 5th day pitch that has shown reasonable signs of wear. He obviously shouldn't play next game. I don't think England selectors have the guts to drop Crawley though.
