    1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

Don’t know why Smith played that shot. Already had his six from that over. Could have sat in. Really should have done.

    1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

Can I say how ridiculous WinViz is? A few minutes ago it had England as narrow favourites despite still having a significant deficit. Nonsense.

    1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

Poor decision from Reiffel, initially. Looked like it was always going to leg.

I am surprised Bumrah hasn’t used the bouncer at Brook, this morning.

    Cricket obituaries

RIP Syd. Actually met him briefly at the Gabba in 1998. He was hosting a tour group. Came across as the great bloke he was acknowledged as.

Official* Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka 2025

Pitch a bit of a road? Seems like Bangla have underachieved with their score.

That's probably why you wouldn't pick Woakes and Cook in the same team. If it was more 'traditional' Headingley weather, you would consider it more. The lack of experience of bowlers not called CR Woakes is rather concerning and the fact that Tongue has barely played much cricket since a year...

    **Official** English Football Season 2024/25

Because they won CL in 2021, the qualifying period. I don't know how the likes of Benfica are there too. At least Auckland City FC have won the Oceania CL a few times. That said, they are semi pro and Auckland FC (a separate club) and Wellington Phoenix play in the Aussie A League.

    **Official** English Football Season 2024/25

I'm struggling to figure out the meritocracy of certain teams being in the tournament I must say and not just them.

    1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

I'm a little surprised that England haven't named their XI yet. Over the last couple of years they have regularly named their team with a couple of days to go. I guess with an inexperienced attack they really might not be so sure who is going to team up with Woakes and Carse in the pace attack.

    1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

I recall India fans being at the London grounds in big numbers in the past, but I don't recall them being quite so numerous elsewhere, even at Trent Bridge in 2011, where that is relatively close to the large East Midlands community. For starters, members of the relevant counties will buy up...
