The issues with rugby here have been done to deathDamn right morgie, no rich folks involved in league or Aussie rules at all.
Whar's your point?
Well, the Ireland union test side represents the whole of the island of Ireland, six counties of which are (in)famously still part of the UK.
i think that’s super cool!Ireland play under 1 banner in rugby as well.
Yes, it's the British (England, Wales, Scotland) and Irish (Ireland, both RoI and NI) Lions.
I watched it and I still have no idea what to make of it. The Lions could easily have been ahead by even more at half time, but they were incredibly lucky with refereeing decisions. Australia dominated most of the second half, but they were 2+ scores down so it could have been the Lions taking their foot off the gas. They spent a hell of a lot of time in the Lions’ 22, but is that because they had to work much harder for their breakthroughs than the Lions did?Forgot the game was on and watched a doco instead. The score seemed deceptively flattering for the Gold and the press have been talking them up. Yet from these comments it seems the Lions butchered perhaps up to 30 or 40 pts. I think I'd believe the comments on here over the press. Next 2 games could see an absolute crushing by the Lions.
No First Nation players (I think?)I don't get it. Islander/Indigenous kids play footy is a Betoota article?
Is he actually Aussie qualified? He's from NZ and has actually represented them in Athletics.Well, game about to start, suspect Morgan and VdF will be looking to prove a point - Charlie Gamble as well for the Indigienous/Pasifika side, he was excellent for the Tahs and you think he might get himself in the frame for the 3rd test with a big night here.
Tupou needs to show up tonight as well, he's taken big steps backwards the last year or so.
It led to captain Hugh Sinclair calling for the flanker to earn a Wallabies call-up, with Gamble admitting it’d be a dream come true.
“Ever since I've been eligible, obviously that's something I want to do,” he said post-match.
“I always want to play professionally and when you want to play professionally, you want to reach the highest levels. So, Australia's my adopted country and obviously, at the start, it was probably a bit funny, but it's something I really want to do.
“I want to represent this country and if I ever get called in the squad, or, whatever happens, happens…I'm always ready, and I'll be very keen to play.”
If Gamble were to receive that call-up, it would complete a remarkable journey that started his Australian career in part-time suburban Rugby with Petersham in 2018 while delivering beers for Modus.
