Hope we don't replace Bashir with Bethell and bat him 8. We gain nothing in spin and Bethell's wasted at 8. If Bethell comes in it should be for Pope.

No chance Crawley gets dropped either. He's locked in for Australia under this regime.

I can't help feel that Crawley will probably get a 60 odd in the next two games that will help the management justify why he should go to Australia, regardless of the overall lack of merit. His records since the start of the 2024 English season in test colours is 24 and that includes his ton against Zim.

England v India: Liam Dawson called up as Shoaib Bashir replacement - BBC Sport Anyway, England have called up Dawson for the next two tests. Good move I think and is certainly not without merit.
