Chances of a rain-interrupted day tomorrow, and Bopara coming in when they need quick runs for a declaration?

Having the crap summer we've had so far has not allowed any ground to prepare pitches in the way they would have liked.
The groundsman at The Oval is totally clueless - he has just about the best square to work with in the country and ****s it up repeatedly irrespective of the weather

In far more helpful conditions - atmospheric and pitch - than these. Writing him off now is just as dumb (if not dumber) as declaring him the greatest bowler ever based on his stats.
But our bowlers are always being downplayed because of how helpful English conditions are meant to be.

Plus Bell and Prior, both of whom can score quickly when they need to. Bres and Swanneh can use the long handle too.

Basically, England at home are unbelievably good. I understand that but FFS does it make things boring.

I think the 09 pitch was deliberate.

TMS speculating that England may have ordered up this dry pitch. If it crumbles Swann is in basically.
That was in 09, they wanted a result pitch as we had nothing to lose after Headingley.

Maybe England don't rate Tahir and are backing Swann to win it?

Philander getting a wee monk on and bowling NBs at 75mph; not good signs.
Vern didn't play too many games for Somerset this season, but when he did he often got outbowled by Pete Trego. All round it was a big dissapointment having him in the team.
