Sri Lanka arrive in New Zealand

Sri Lanka have arrived in New Zealand and are looking to build on their drawn Test series and one-day clean sweep away series’ win over England.

The Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene told awaiting media on arrival that he was very much looking forward to the challenge and the team are clued up on New Zealand conditions with it being the third year in succession they have toured.

Jayawardene also commented on the two Twenty20 internationals they’ll play against the Black Caps with his team being inexperienced in that form of the game but it was something they need to get used to and they were looking forward to having a bit of fun.

Sri Lanka start the tour with a match against Otago in Dunedin which starts this coming Thursday. The first Test follows and starts the following Thursday at Jade Stadium in Christchurch.
