Speed to Burn

Troy Cooley, the new Australian speed coach believes there is plenty of speed bowling depth in Australian cricket.

“The depth looks good, we are going to work pretty hard with what we’ve got and you can only do what you can do with what we’ve got, but it looks pretty good at the moment.” said a confident sounding Cooley.

Cooley, a Tasmanian who played first class cricket for his state, has just spent three years as the England cricket team speed coach, where he was praised for his work with Simon Jones, Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison.

It will be hoped that his expertise will help the Australian pace bowlers master the art of reverse swing, a major difference between the two sides in the last Ashes series.
