Samuels snares 5 in drawn match

West Indian Marlon Samuels capped off a fantastic match with bat and ball, but could not prevent Queensland from attaining a draw. Samuels took his first five-wicket haul – 5 for 87 – as he followed on from his career-best 257 the day before.

Though Queensland slipped to 87/3, Martin Love (107), Andrew Symonds (77) and Chris Hartley (60 not out) denied an understrength West Indian attack to play for a draw, at 378/9.

First innings hero Daren Powell did not feature with the ball in the second innings, leaving Samuels and Chris Gayle to share 53 overs, whilst Chanderpaul and Sarwan were among the six bowlers used.
