New Zealand/Sri Lanka on standby

New Zealand and Sri Lanka have been placed on standby by the Indian Cricket Board for a tri-series in Singapore and Malaysia next month.

The Black Caps are not scheduled to play international cricket until the Champions Trophy in October but should the West Indies Cricket Board not reach agreement with its players over participation in the series, either New Zealand or Sri Lanka will be called up to join India and Australia in a one-day international tri-series.

The series will be held over two weeks and include six pool matches and a final, with four games being played in Malaysia and three in Singapore.

The West Indies Board hope to have the matter resolved with its players within the next week.
