Mushtaq named Assistant Coach

Former Pakistan leg spinner Mushtaq Ahmed has been appointed assistant coach of the Pakistan team.

At the moment the appointment is only for the ICC Champions Trophy, but Mushtaq will be hoping it will lead to a permanent position.

Abbas Zaidi, a PCB director, hinted that the position could be extended “Yes, we have hired him for the Champions Trophy as assistant coach.”

“For the moment the appointment is only for that assignment, but it will be reviewed after the tournament and then on a tour-by-tour basis after that,” Zaidi added.
