India unchanged for South Africa

India will hope to continue their winning ways heading into the upcoming One Day International matches against South Africa, as the pose an unchanged squad for the first three matches of the five-game series.

Whilst fast bowler VRV Singh has been sidelined for two and a half weeks with an ankle injury, Jai Prakash Yadav gets another opportunity to impress. Singh was initially called to the squad as a replacement for Yadav for the last two matches of India’s 6-1 crushing of Sri Lanka. However, Singh’s injury ensured an immediate recall for Yadav, who is now retained.

There is still no room for Sourav Ganguly in the team, as the former Indian captain initially missed out on the squad for the first two games against Sri Lanka. Rahul Dravid was instead named captain. Ganguly then found no place in the side when he returned to fitness.

Indian Squad for first 3 ODIs vs South Africa:
Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid (capt), Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Murali Kartik, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, S Sreesanth, RP Singh, JP Yadav
