India A Look The Goods

India A have put themselves in a strong position at stumps on day two of their four-day game against the Northern Territory Chief Minister’s XI (NTCM XI) finishing the day on 362/8 with a lead of 128 runs on the first innings.

A stylish hundred (106) by their captain YV Rao and strong support from S. Dhawan before he was run out for 84, have given India A a great chance of applying pressure on the young NTCM XI on days three and four.

With TP Singh not out 43 and well set, India A will be looking for quick runs against the NTCM XI tiring attack tomorrow.

Resuming at 15-1 India A were at one stage 95-3 during the morning session before the match altering partnership between Rao and Dhawan. The pleasing thing for the NTCM XI was the fact that their fielding was enthusiastic throughout the whole day.

With a scoring rate of 3.85 India A looked to have unearthed some very talented stroke makers, and have seemingly sent a very strong combination to Australia for this Top End Series of matches.
