Giles says his career isn`t over

Ashley Giles has refused to concede his international career is over despite being left out of England’s 15 man World Cup squad.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Giles maintained he was still good enough to play for England once again.

“It might not have come as a huge surprise that I wasn’t included in the World Cup squad, but I was still very disappointed,” he said.

“I’ve been in a fortunate position for a long time where I have been picked in a lot of England squads. When I didn’t get a phone call on Wednesday, it was very disappointing.

“I would love to be going to the World Cup and believe that I am still good enough to play at international level again.”

Giles, 33, had a miserable Ashes tour of Australia which was cut short after he was left out of the third Test and was rushed home to be with his ill wife, later diagnosed with a benign brain tumour.
