Which Was the Worst Possible Umpiring Decision That You Have Seen

Shakeel and Qadir were an awesome combination, perhaps the best ever, and certainly one of the most watchable.

The disgracefully biased Darrell Hair might be forgiven for wondering how many effigies of Shakeel Khan ever got burned by Pakistani fans.
I just looked at the Gatting lbw again. It never gets old. What a reaction from Gatt.

For those of you who are interested here is a 2 part interview with some very famous names and footage. The most telling part is towards the end of part 2 when Ian after talking with Egar today has been assured his bowling action, if he was still playing, would be LEGAL!

Chucking in Cricket: 1950s & 60s Part 1 - YouTube
tbh Meckiff looks like a massive chucker and the other blokes are worse. That's a lot worse than the suspect bowlers we have these days,

What makes it worse is he hardly even runs up. All the pace comes from the chucking. He doesn't look like he'd have been much of a cricketer at all sans chucking.

Thought he genuinely looks like hyperextension, to be honest. And Tony Lock looked worse...

EDIT: almost as bad as Burke!

Can see a massive bend and then straighten at that slow-mo at about 0:36-0:38 tbh.

More generally can see some bloke casually waltzing up and biffing it. The whole thing actually does just look like a bloke trundling up and having a shy at the stumps ffs.

burke  dear lord
Burke's is just unworldly. My word.

I sort of had this mental image of the 50s and 60s being this prelapsarian paradise where the MCC coaching manual held sway and chuckers were no-balled out of the game, but to see Lock and especially Burke, well, suffice to say another illusion is well and truly shattered.

Haha yeah, Burke's looks terrible.

Tbh it looks about 800 test wickets bad. Just saying.

Edit: part two of that doco is pretty fascinating tbh. It almost seems as though the selectors picked Meckiff in his come back with a view to getting him no-balled out of the game and to bring the whole thing to a head.

Reading your comment below about qadir being given out stumped, should give you an idea that Shakeel was perhaps In-competent

You should be very careful making imputations like that.

I've probably posted this before, but I've never seen a video and I doubt it'd be doable to get it.

Asoka de Silva (who surely has nominations in here previously) on McCullum, 08, Bangladesh. One-off Test, lbw Razzaq - 1st Test: Bangladesh v New Zealand at Chittagong, Oct 17-21, 2008 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Just a disgusting decision. No appeal or little appeal from memory (when an Asian doesn't appeal, you know it isn't out), was going over, pitched outside leg and probably wasn't hitting either. Out.

As summed up in http://www.scottydonaldson.com/2008/10/asoka-de-silva-has-been-paid-off.html and http://nz.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/post/-/mikekilpatrick/386/asokas-shocka-gets-the-finger/

And further case study at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu3NQeAdwfw which is almost as laughable.

I've seen worse actions from players playing today than Meckiff's TBH.

The human eye has been shown to struggle to interpret the bowling actions properly as the ICC evidence showed.

Ruined a man for politics, disgraceful IMO.

burke was a batsman according to cricinfo so it was fair enough he played so much but how he was allowed to bowl 814 balls with that action is beyond me
at least murali couldn't straighten his elbow and ajmal had the accident burke was an out and out chucker. poor meckiff his action looks like hadlee's compared to burke's

Yeah but according to cricinfo leg bye's can be done by a batsman clipping the ball onto the onside.

That said that's my case and point Meckiff these days would be legal.
