As an Australian fan there are so many greats to pick from but I would go for Border, think our current side needs a no-nonsense guy like him who can help rebuild a strong side full of resilient individuals and of course we could also do with a batsman like him in our ranks.

Given the predicament of our side I think we need a good leader like AB, in the past he built an Australian side pretty much from scratch under his leadership which laid the foundation for Australian dominance of international cricket for the next couple of decades, also as a batsman he is an Australian great so he without doubt would be great addition to the current Australian side.

While Hadlee, Crowe and Bond would be miles ahead of anyone else you'd have to go for Hadlee.

SA would surely be Donald - their batting is incredible as it is, they just need someone to back up Steyn.

A lot of people say kapil but I'm not sure a quality spinner wouldn't be better, prasanna or chandra.

Hadlee. But Martin Crowe in with a shout too.

A very interesting question, posed at this time. After all most of the time Aussies would have to choose Bradman, but with their lack of spinning options, Benaud, Warne, O'reilly, Grimmet and Warne must come into it. I'd go for Benaod if I were them, gives you spin and strenghtens the batting line-up.

Hammond, as others have said must be ours, we still need to score runs from six, but would be a useful fifth bowler.

Van Der Bijl for Saffies surely, struggling for a third seamer after Morne and Dale, and he'd be a perfect foil to them.

They need a better opener to partner Smith as well - I'd say they'd go for Barry Richards.

I tend to agree with this. If I hadn't made a joke post earlier then you can't really have anyone other than the Don. I am not sure anything is as significant as knowing the bloke turning up to bat at 3 is probably going to make 100. No wet tracks around for him to under-perform on these days either.

I mean, grit and toughness is all well and good but it pales so so so much in comparison to having a batsman who is an even chance of scoring a century every time he bats.

Australia - Warne (need a spinner. Bradman's obviously better, but our batting stocks >>>> our spinning stocks)
Bangladesh - NFI
England - Botham (gives them a 5th bowling option and is IMO a better bat than Morgan)
India - Dev (gives them a 5th bowling option and a quality pacer that doesn't get injured)
New Zealand - Hadlee (obvious reasons)
Pakistan - Imran (strong leader)
South Africa - Donald (gives them a good 3rd seamer. Plenty of options here though)
Sri Lanka - Murali (their best bowler by far)
West Indies - there actually don't seem to be that many gaping holes at full strength. But there's like a million players that would enhance the side. So take your pick.
Zimbabwe - Streak (no experienced quicks)
