Pity McCullum didn't last for another 4 or 5 overs. With 230ish we might've had an outside chance

btw I reckon Gillespie has returned to angry fast mode. Check out his dismissal of de Boorder today in the vault. Best celebration.
Haha that was more likely to be a ****'s way of snarking an ump than a fast man actually feeling it.

You can view wickets, boundaries etc just on the scorecards. I forgot how to get into the vault a couple of weeks back and cbf finding out again. Only NZC would make a video vault so impossible to use.
Alright I will put this scorecard in my sig for you, seeing it gets you halfway there.

They will pick Flynn ahead of Rutherford IMO. Agree with the rest though.

Went to the game, waste of money tbh. We left early, actually surprised we managed to take five wickets. They only had one when I left. We really need to start getting ruthless with our selections. There's no way Rutherford is a better OD player than Ronchi, and Ellis sure as hell isn't good enough to play internationals. Guptill, Ryder, Mitch, Ronchi -----> next series.

1. Jesse Ryder
2. Martin Guptill
3. Kane Williamson
4. Ross Taylor
5. BJ Watling
6. Brendon McCullum (c)
7. Luke Ronchi
8. Nathan McCullum
9. Kyle Mills
10. Tim Southee
11. Mitchell McClenaghan

Wtf was up with that guy singing in the innings break btw Ed? Not far off the strangest thing I've seen.

Having to get 20 overs of Nathan McCullum, Williamson and Ryder might be a bit hmm.

Doull mentioned that on our Sky comm. Averages (he said) something like 46 in FC and 14 in List A, yet gets picked for limited overs.

Sort of ploppy "using the ODIs as audtitions for tests" selection our panel used to specialise in not so very long ago.

Haha, I know. That was the most bizarre half-time entertainment I've ever seen. Not sure who thought that was a good idea.

The other mystery is what went on over in the East Stand - I don't think I've ever seen that many people evicted at the same time before. They almost emptied the stand!

Anyway, what a debacle. My bad. Sorry, guys. :(

I went to the game, too: waste of time; waste of money. An awful day of cricket.

*Ugh*

That's all I have to say about that.

The strongest test team would be to open with Flynn and Watling and give the gloves to Ronchi. But Hesson's mind is seemingly made up to give BJ the gloves.

Bruce Martin, Hamish Rutherford, Tom Latham set for BlackCaps Test debuts - Story - 3 Sport - 3 News

Twelve players have been announced today and another fast bowler will be added to the squad following the New Zealand XI four-day warm-up match against England starting on Wednesday in Queenstown.
BlackCaps head coach Mike Hesson says he is keen to show consistency with his selections by retaining Brownlie, arguably New Zealand’s best Test player in South Africa, and incumbent wicketkeeper Watling.

Hesson says that Fulton retains his spot in the side after some great form for Canterbury – averaging more than 50 in the Plunket Shield.

“We picked Peter to tour South Africa and he would have played there if he hadn’t been injured,” says Hesson.

“That leaves young Hamish and Tom to battle for the other opening spot. They’ve been in good form and are both products of our successful New Zealand A programme.”
