He can bowl too - but they didn't bowl him SA and may not see him as an option. That may hold him back

And unlike his batting - he has a classically good action. You will really like it when you see him bowl. He is very average but easily as good as Nathan Astle and McMillan etc.
I hate to think what Gayle or Warner (or McCullum for that matter) would do to Franklin if he bowled 125ks, gun barrel straight stuff to them
I think he is very fortunate that the English openers havent really needed to take any unnecessary risks as there were lots of balls just dying to be belted
