Bowlers appear to be in good nick based on the game against Australia A. Is either Siraj or Saini good enough to be picked ahead of Umesh Yadav?

Whatever it takes!!!
Saini did not bowl crap but he does not seem to have any kind of movement at all. Its all up and down at pace. He can be a point of difference, I suppose, given how skiddy both Bumrah and Shami can be but I am guessing the ability of Umesh to move the ball (and make some runs) will end up the differentiator. Dont rule out us playing 4 seamers either, with Umesh for Siraj from today's line up. It will be colossally stupid, but its Virat and Shaz. So anything is possible.

Umesh bowled really really well in the first warm up (thanks Maraud Vlogs for letting me watch the whole thing). Better than anyone today.

We did bowl well but keep in mind that it was a 140 par type of situation. Bowlers bowling a good length were rewarded with jaffas every other over.

Would always prefer Siraj over Saini, tbh. I don't how Siraj went after his first spell in the practice game, but what I watched at the start was promising. Guy gets late movement and is brisk enough for this level. I'd play Umesh in the first Test because he's bound to be a bigger menace under lights. If he craps the bed, then Siraj should get a look-in. Saini can play the dead rubber if there is one.

Yesterday’s performance showed glaring flows in Indian batting. Despite not having Kohli, this is still a subpar performance on the pitch that has no demons in it.

Where does India go from here? Is Pujara’s performance a concern? I don’t particularly have an issue with his SR but the fact is he isn’t scoring enough runs. And he is 33 so not getting any younger.

This series is probably done but what’s next?

Will Vihari be fit to play 4th test? In Jaddu's absence we can afford to play only 4 bowlers, Saha as keeper, and Pant as specialist batsman. If Vihari is unfit, Shaw/Mayank will have to be the 6th batsman. (Uh, have lost the injury count by now - guessing Shaw and Mayank are available for selection?)

I am guessing they might still play 5 bowlers if Pant is fit enough to keep. Something like...

Rohit
Gill
Pujara
Rahane
Mayank
Pant (wk)
Ashwin
Kuldeep
Saini/Shardul
Siraj
Bumrah/Natarajan
