no wonder the west indies are playing like chumps today. What was that crap national anthem they played? Why can't they play something like 'here comes the hotstepper' or 'feel it boy' or something? Now those songs there would get the windies pumped up.

It would be fair to say that SA makes it to the semis

WI fought well too esp considering that they got 160+ despite Parnell grabbing 4/12

this probably shows how difficult it is to defend 150-160 unless you have a side that bowls and fields superbly. Sides like India have to think 170+ on good wkts to have a chance. anything less and they are at a mercy of other side throwing it away

South Africa are strongest side in the competition and they showed it once again. They have what other teams don't - strike bowlers in the form of Steyn and Parnell who are genuine wicket taking options.

Lendl Simmons is a special talent. What an innings he played today.

Haha. What was with that? Flashbacks to Ricky Stuart throwing a tantrum when the NRL brought in video refs.

SA are most certainly the favorites. WI and SL are still the dark-horses. SL has variety in the bowling attack and explosiveness at the top of the order. WI again has 3 bats who can win it single-handedly on their day along with a good batting supporting cast and a spirited bowling lineup. Indian batters need to really stop being too brash with the bat and play the ball on merit a bit. Ian Chappel said over confidence will be India's biggest test, and its showing now. I reckon they'll beat England tomorrow and lose to SA. We'll see..

Whatever it takes!!!
India's captain is the one who seems a tad over-confident to me.

And it has been that way since the IPL semis.

You have a guy who is doing brilliantly at #3. So what do you do? Take him out of there for THE game, put yourself in at 3 when you haven't exactly been setting the world alight with your batting form... Then continue to bat 3 through the warm ups and the qualifying stage to the Super 8s. Then when the big game comes around, put the guy back at 3 when he has basically lost all his form through batting at 5 and 6.... Dhoni's captaincy has shown a touch of arrogance recently and it has been irritating, to say the least.

What the hell was up with taking Sehwag when no one knew if he was gonna be fit?

Totally unfair criticism. Raina's form has more to do with playing in England than with the position he is sent to bat.

On Sehwag, once again you have bought into the crap written in the media. No one knew how serious the injury was. Both Sehwag and Zaheer were injured, Medical staff gave the advice that the injry would heal hence they were taken.

Close to restrict their NRR's

Was impressed by LMP Simmons's lack of piccone after getting out last night!

Key to winning a tournement: be the team that rocks up in the best condition possible. Signs point to RSA being the squad best prepared and on top of their game.

Scene is set for an all-time South African choke here. Going in as favourites towards the business end of a tournament, will be classic.

Choking may be their main obstacle. On paper they're well-balanced with depth in all disciplines. So whoever loses tonight out of the poms and the Indians are out and if the former wins, I think SA is definitely through to the semis.

Don't think so. However, what the scene is set for should India loose their next game, are burning paperplayers, attacks on players, indian newspapers calling for the entre team to be dropped in an instant and the like...

It's only cricket....and should SA choke people here will accept it. Takes a lot of pressure of the players and a more calm and free approach to the tournament.

Actually England won't be knocked out if they lose...could still theoretically go through on NRR (If SA beat India and England beat WI). India are out if they lose (SA have two wins & one of WI & Eng would have to have 2 wins)
