Best ODI Bowler In The World

Very hard to say. Murali still bowls alright, I think he manages 10 overs fairly well. Malinga is awesome, particularly in the end of the innings. I feel Anderson on a decent pitch is a force with the new ball. Kulasekara and Praveen Kumar look pretty good as well. Vettori has been good for ages now though so he's a fair call.

RJ Harris 39 @ 15.92
DE Bollinger 42 @ 21.42
SR Watson 50 @ 22.24
SCJ Broad 74 @ 23.44
Umar Gul 46 @ 24

By Economy

Vettori 3.93
Bollinger 4.31
Shakib 4.40
Bracken 4.46

By figures alone I'd say Bollinger and Harris look alright, Vettori is also pretty fantastic as he basically averages 4 runs less a match than anyone else.

Surprised to see Mendis still doing so well. Looked up his record and it seems like he's still living off his 2008 numbers.

Surely Swann must be on this list? Has he not taken 35 wickets since then?

He has, but an average of 25.6, ER 4.54 is just below the mark in terms of making the above list.

I think as others have said there's no clear #1 for me.

They're all rather situational bowlers, not ones that are just all-round top notch.

Vettori is very good at quietly stifling the runs, but you wouldn't call on him if you needed a couple of wickets - that's where you'd bring on a Swann or Broad. But they're very much aggressive bowlers in ODI cricket and not very economical.

You've got Bollinger who's a very good bowler but he's complete ****e at the death. Then you've got Umar Gul who is awesome at the death but mediocre the rest of the time. Harris has obviously taken bucketloads of wickets but needs to sustain that for longer. Similarly I think Ajmal the chucker will be a very effective ODI bowler until someone finally has the guts to call his blatant no-balls.

ICC ranking pretty clearly suggests that there is no clear No.1 if Mills and Kula appears there!

According to me Malinga, Bollinger and Ryan Harris has done reasonably well to deserve that spot of best ODI bowler...
