He does watch the ball though, instead of just getting his head down and running. Did it in one of the tests in India too iirc. It's bizarre because you'd think it'd be an easy thing for him to correct.

The key point at the end still stands though; the run-out could have been avoided through more intelligent running and Ponting couldn't berate anyone from the 09 one with no-one to scapegoat.
