Beaten outside off stump followed by 2 gift singles on the legs

It's obviously incredibly hard to bowl on one side of the wicket
Have no idea why square leg is so deep, he seems to be in behind the umpire about 1/2 way to the boundary.

Honestly you can't blame the bowler for bowling a bit straight every now and then. There simply just shouldn't be singles to square leg at this time - a regulation position.

Maybe. But you can also trust the bounce more in Australia. In England there's always risk when you play any shot really.

Oh and there's no Mcgrath and Clark. these lot seem unable to bowl more than one ball on a good length.
Well quite. Waiting for the bad ball to score is only going to work as long as you're getting bad balls.

It's why Cook has no problem with Johnson. Four good, two bad, every over without fail.

If I was Ponting I would have run over and smacked Haddin and Watson around the head for that dropped catch. FMD that was terrible cricket.

This is exactly the problem. Now Hilf is bowling wide and pedestrian and looks a tenth of the bowler.

Was just going to say the same thing as Tubby, get cover over to square leg for Hilf. Encourage them to drive a bit and give him some protection for the one that swings back. At the moment, they don't have to take any risks, as there's no great reward on the off and runs are easy to come by on the leg-side.

Drop that Cook he is useless. I guess it was too much to expect him to carry on again where he had left off.

Been a good partnership though, would have taken this start last night at 0-0.
