Haha yeah he's made that obvious for quite some time. Not a bandwagon-jumper either; he rated him extremely highly even when he'd just been dropped from the team for looking like a clown in South Africa and was putting in pretty average performances domestically.

Yeah, I remember clearly when Sehwag came in and did well in the last two Tests of the tour to Australia in '07-'08. He was thrilled.

Most of you who questioned me for picking Wasim Akram can Kiss the fatest part of my ass.. haha

apprently, all the judges agree with me..hell even readers picked Wasim Akram

if only they could pick Inzi over Bradman who i still think is better choice to go with considering that with Bradman there is alot of IFs and Buts involved..

There was always a very high chance that the readers would pick Wasim (considering that the readers picked him as the # All Rounder of all time..imagine that) but I thought the jury would have a somewhat different choice than the readers. And the All time XI bowling attack looks weaker than the second XI attack.

wasn't Imran a better alrounder than Wasim?

I think he is ther cuz of his bowling skills and him being a left arm..

Think Imran lost out because cricinfo mysteriously decided to have one all-rounder in each side. Same goes for Hadlee's absence from second XI.

And yes I am surprised too that Warne got all votes. Sorry for saying this but in case of Aussie and English players legends raise the reputations higher than where facts should place them (think Lillee as another example).

Ankit quoted below answers your question here.

Yeah with only one all rounder whose bowling is quite ordinary (by all time standards) only one all rounder makes the team somewhat weaker than it should have been.

And it should have been somewhat closer between Warne and Murali............there isn't much to choose between the two really and the final vote suggests otherwise. Quite disappointing really.

Thats the case, I was quite disappointed cause I wanted to pick Hadlee.

Also thats the case why Miller missed out.

Chappell :

Lillee, Lindwall, Wasim and Marshall could do everything McGrath did, at 10-15 kmph faster, so they would be tougher for batsmen to face.
Hmm...

Athlai

Not Terrible
Hadlee > McGrath

Whatever difference in their bowling could be made up for what he adds with the bat. Cricinfo's allrounder selection process is mind boggling.

Hmm...
Ye basically. That is argument i always give when picking the AUS ATXI. Which i rate Lillee & Lindwall over the great pigeon & why they would get the new ball as the the two 90 mph bowlers @ their peaks & pigeon would come on 1st change.

While for the world XI fast bowlers & selecting the greatest fast-bowlers of all-time, why i would rate & pick Lillee, Lindwall, Marshall, Donald, Ambrose, Imran, Trueman, Hadlee ahead of McGrath. The extra pace is the key deciding factor.

Not necessarily. Murali and Warne are close enough to each other that Warne's batting and captaincy nous will usually give him the nod in these kinds of situations.
