Watson re-injures left hamstring

Shane Watson has re-injured his left hamstring during his come-back domestic match for Queensland against South Australia in Adelaide.

Watson bowled Mark Cosgrove before lunch and followed it up by bowling Callum Ferguson after lunch but at the conclusion of that over he left the field after appearing to suffer the injury while bowling a bouncer at Jason Gillespie.

Queensland coach Terry Oliver said he had been told by team physiotherapist Kevin Sims that the injury appeared to be in a different part of his hamstring but it would be properly accessed tomorrow to get a full picture of the injury.

It now appears that the Australian selectors will not risk him in the remainder of the Ashes series giving Andy Symonds a chance to establish himself in the team.
