Vettori to lead NZ at World Cup

Daniel Vettori is set to lead the Black Caps for the Twenty20 World Cup after Stephen Fleming was left out of New Zealand’s 15 man squad.

Vettori is now favourite to take over the mantle for the 50 over version of the game after Fleming stood down from the position at the end of the ODI World Cup during the year.

New Zealand have included two untested players in the squad to make the trip to South Africa, Nathan McCullum and Bradley Scott, whilst back-up Wicketkeeper Gareth Hopkins also made the cut after a string of good domestic performances.

New Zealand Twenty20 squad: Daniel Vettori (cpt), Shane Bond, Peter Fulton, Mark Gillespie, Gareth Hopkins (wk), Chris Martin, Craig McMillan, Brendon McCullum (wk), Nathan McCullum, Jacob Oram, Jeetan Patel, Bradley Scott, Scott Styris, Ross Taylor, Lou Vincent.
