Vaughan’s condition improves

Michael Vaughan’s knee condition has improved, boosting his chance of recovery. But despite the good news, it is too early to judge his availability for the rest of the series, although he did have a brief knock in the nets on Monday.

Although there is still the confusion in the situation, there is a possibility that he still has a chance to recover and captain the England side for the second test, which starts on the 20th November.

In case Vaughan is not fit for Sunday, Alistair Cook, the left-handed Essex opening batsman who scored a double century versus Australia earlier in the year, has been brought into the squad to cover for Vaughan.

Vaughan is still hoping for an improvement, but has stated that if there is no chance of recovery he will leave the tour party.
