Trescothick makes amazing return

Marcus Trescothick made an amazing return in his come back match scoring 256 off 117 balls for Somerset against Devon in a pre-season friendly.

Trescothick hit 19 sixes and 25 fours to lead Somerset to 502-4 off 50 overs in what was “phenomenal batting” Devon’s Robert Dawson said.

Trescothick left the Ashes tour last year due to a stress-related illness and had double hernia surgery after returning home but is now back to full fitness.

Following England’s continued troubles at the top of the order, it appears almost certain that Trescothick will make his way back into the England side for the home series against the West Indies, providing he can convince the selectors he is over his illness.
