Tait still in the hunt for WC pl

Shaun Tait is still in the hunt for a place within the World Cup squad Australian captain Ricky Ponting has said.

Tait has had an up and down Ford Ranger Cup domestic season to date since returning from a ham-string injury and has taken eight wickets from five matches at an average of 27.62 with an economy rate of 5.11.

Ponting told the Daily Telegraph that “He will be right in the mix for selection in a World Cup squad, there is no doubt about that”.

“He might go for a few runs here and there, but I think limited-overs cricket suits him”.

“If he bowls up front with a brand new ball and swings it at express pace, we’ve seen he can knock top-order batsman over doing that.”
