Shabbir’s 12 Month Ban Stands

Shabbir Ahmed’s 12 month ban for an illegal bowling action will stand following analysis by an independent bowling review group in Dubai.

The bowling review group was made up of Javagal Srinath, Roshan Mahanama, Dick French and Dr Marc Portus and their decision to uphold the initial decision was unanimous after reviewing further video footage and laboratory tests.

Shabbir now becomes the first bowler to be banned from international cricket for an illegal bowling action following the revised bowling review regulations put in place by the ICC last year.
