Sehwag probable for first ODI

Virender Sehwag has been described as being “likely to play” in the first ODI against England in Delhi on Tuesday, following a full net session.

While it is not certain, India are confident he will play at Delhi, but a final decision will be made tomorrow. After enduring a pretty poor series by his standards, he suffered back spasms in the final test. He had to bat at 7 and failed to score in India’s batting collapse.

If he plays, it should be a big boost to India, who are already without Tendulkar for the entire series. Whilst poor compared to his test stats, Sehwag has still amassed over 4000 runs at a strike rate of 97, and if he can get on top of England’s bowlers it will be very good for India.
