Samuels cut from WIndies squad

West Indies have dropped Marlon Samuels from the Test squad for the upcoming four Test series against England with the selectors deciding to select a young squad to re-build following their disappointing World Cup performance.

Five fast bowlers and two fast bowling all-rounders have been selected with no spinner being named and no backup wicket-keeper for Denesh Ramdin.

Chairman of selectors Gordon Greenidge said on the squad “We are looking towards the future, and we are looking to rebuild, but we feel that it is wrong to totally change and go that route at this present stage.”

West Indies start their tour with a three day match against Somerset before the first of four Tests start on 17th May at Lord’s.
