Ponting fined 100% of match fee

Australian captain Ricky Ponting has been fined his entire match fee after showing dissent to an umpire’s decision by action and verbal abuse during Australia’s 78 run victory over the West Indies in Kuala Lumpur earlier today.

Ponting was charged following his inappropriate reaction to a wide called by umpire Asad Ruf during the 33rd of the West Indies innings.

Although the charge would normally only result in the player losing 50% of their match fee, it resulted in Ponting losing it all due to being charged with the same offence during the second Test against Bangladesh in April earlier this year.
