Plunkett admits to drink driving

Liam Plunkett has been banned from driving for 20 months after admitting to a drink driving charge from last October.

An English court heard that Plunkett crashed into another motor vehicle after returning from a nightclub – fortunately
no one was seriously hurt.

Plunkett was found to have 172mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, more than twice over the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.

Plunkett received a 20 month ban from driving, a 2,000 pound fine and was ordered to attend a drink-drive rehabilitation course.

Plunkett was bailed by police last October so he could join the Ashes squad.

Plunkett was named in England’s 15-man World Cup squad and will now be looking to put this behind him and focus on the World Cup.
