Mushtaq Ahmed to get a call up?
James Nixon |The Pakistan selectors are working through the possibility of calling the experienced Mushtaq Ahmed into the squad for the second Test at Old Trafford.
With Pakistan currently suffering many injuries to key bowlers, and with Mushtaq taking 53 wickets at an average of 18.73 for county side Sussex so far this season, he would add much needed experience to the bowling attack.
With the Old Trafford pitch having assisted spin bowlers the past few years and the continued hot weather forecast, it is likely to suit the Pakistani spinners.
Mushtaq last played for Pakistan three years ago in Faisalabad against South Africa and had figures of 1-48 and 0-53.
Pakistan’s next match on tour is a four-day first class game against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road starting on Thursday.
