Moody takes up WA coaching role

Current Sri Lanka coach Tom Moody has not extended his contract with Sri Lankan Cricket and will return to Western Australia where he will take on the head coach role with the state side.

Current Sri Lankan assistant coach Trevor Penney is following Tom Moody back to Perth where he will take on the deputy coaching role with Western Australia.

WACA president Dennis Lillee announced the news of this at a press conference this morning, with the duo to take up their roles on July 1st.

It is thought that Moody’s family situation played a large part in the decision with his wife and kids living in England while he coached the Sri Lankan national side.

Moody replaces Wayne Clark who resigned the coaching position at the end of last season.
