Mills ruled out for 12 months

Kyle Mills has been ruled out of the World Cup and will be out of action for 12 months with a patella tendon problem in his knee. Mills will under-go surgery as soon as possible.

Mills had been with the Black Caps squad in Australia and had been unable to sleep for most of last week and drugs failed to relieve the pain forcing him out of consideration for selection while in Australia.

Mills had been New Zealand’s most successful one-day bowler of the past 12 months taking 15 wickets from seven one-dayers at an average of 18.13.

New Zealand coach John Bracewell will announce the Black Caps 15-man squad for the World Cup this coming Tuesday.
