McMillan Joins Hampshire

Hampshire announced that New Zealand all-rounder Craig McMillan will be joining the club to replace Simon Katich when he departs with the Ashes squad.

28 year old McMillan who has played in 55 Test matches and 162 One-Day Internationals for his country will make his Hampshire debut in the May 30th Bank holiday totesport match against Northamptonshire Steelbacks, he will then remain with the county until the match against Worcestershire Royals on July 26th.

New Zealand have a series against Sri Lanka starting in August, so Hampshire are currently in talks with Shane Watson to replace Katich until he returns later in the season.

McMillan said that he very excited about the prospect of playing for such a successful team. “Sharing the same platform with Shane Warne instead of having to face him, as I have for the past 7 years, will be a great honour”.
