Martin Crowe: Remove chuckers

Former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe has launched a scathing underhand attack on Muttiah Muralitharan saying “chuckers” should be thrown out of the game.

Crowe who delivered this year’s Cowdrey Lecture at Lord’s said international cricket was losing respectability with officials looking the other way over the past decade to bowlers who chuck and changing the laws to suit them.

If a bowler was seen to be chucking by even one degree he should be thrown out of the game, Crowe said.

Crowe also called for Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to be thrown out of Test cricket saying they’re “clogging up the works” and offered nothing to the international game.

He also said that the World Cup should be shortened and one-day games to feature two innings per side.
