Lee injury scare

Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has rolled his ankle during the teams final training session before the first Chappell-Hadlee one-dayer in Wellington tomorrow.

Lee was doing a routine fielding training drill but collapsed in pain and was taken off the field by medical staff.

It would appear that Lee is in serious doubt for the entire series with the World Cup only a few weeks away.

It would be expected that Stuart Clark would be called up as cover with Ponting saying only yesterday that “who knows – one of the guys rolls an ankle on a ball and I’m sure Stuey is going to be the first guy we call up. As we saw in the last World Cup, lots of funny things can happen.”
