His team will play three Tests and five ODIs against South Africa, and will be the last cricket they played before the World Cup starts in March. Inzamam said: “We are up to the task and know how important this tour is for us. I am confident that the team will do well and be ready for the World Cup.”

He had also added that he thinks Pakistan have “a good and balanced team” and that he hopes they will “play to their potential.” Pakistan are boosted by the return of Mohammad Asif, but Shoaib Akhtar, the other player to have drugs ban lifted is left out due to a lack of fitness.
