Hoggard replaces BroadJames Nixon |
England swing bowler Matthew Hoggard has replaced Stuart Broad in England’s 12-man squad for the third Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Hoggard missed the second Test with a back injury and was replaced by Stuart Broad.
On a pitch that is expected to offer plenty of turn to the spin bowlers, it is thought that England may turn to Graeme Swann to form a spin bowling partnership with Monty Panesar.
England captain Michael Vaughan told media that “It’s amazing how much the pitch can change in 24 hours in conditions here – yesterday it was completely green and today it is brown and barren.”
