Hilditch New Head Selector

Australia have announced that Andrew Hilditch has been appointed the chairman of the National Selection Panel.

Hilditch played 18 Tests for Australia and has been a selector of the Australian side since 1996/97. He replaces Trevor Hohns following Hohns’ resignation on Monday.

“Naturally I’m very excited about my appointment and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead,” Hilditch said about his new role.

“Trevor has done a fantastic job in the time he has chaired the panel and I can only hope to perform to a similar level.

“I have no doubt that it is a challenging role and there will be many tough decisions ahead, however, our objective is to maintain Australia’s position at the top of world cricket by selecting the best teams as we see fit.”

The Cricket Austalia board is yet to announce a fourth selector to join Hilditch, David Boon and Merv Hughes.
