Harmison out of ODIs

Steve Harmison has been withdrawn from the Natwest Series against Pakistan as a precautionary measure.

He has been suffering from soreness and has not responded to treatment. After the forfeited Oval Test, the Durham paceman said:”There is something in my side/back area which is causing a bit of concern, not the same thing as before, it’s something new.”

He was rested from today’s Twenty20 international, and the ECB has taken the decision to ensure that he is fit for this winter’s hectic schedule. They have not named a replacement as of yet.
