Ganguly Dropped

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been dropped from the squad for the third test against Sri Lanka.

Having earlier been replaced by captain by Rahul Dravid and excluded from the squad for the series against South Africa, Ganguly has again been left out of the third test against Sri Lanka despite reasonable innings of 39 and 40 in the second test.

Included in his place is Mumbai opener Wasim Jaffer, who hasn’t played for India since 2002. The 27-year old has scored 261 runs in seven tests to date at an average of 20.07.

The third test begins in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
